About Federal Watch Company

Federal Watch Company was founded on the belief that a mechanical watch can be more than an instrument for telling time—it can preserve a story. Every watch we create is inspired by the people, documents, and ideals that shaped the United States, brought to life through traditional mechanical watchmaking and thoughtful craftsmanship.

Our inaugural timepiece, The Self-Evident, reflects that philosophy. Crafted around a dial of genuine parchment, the same material used for the original Declaration of Independence, it was designed to create a tangible connection to one of the most important documents in American history. Every watch is individually assembled by the company's founder in Philadelphia, ensuring that each piece receives the attention and care it deserves.

My name is Dominic Cerrito, and I'm the founder and watchmaker behind Federal Watch Company. Long before I became fascinated with mechanical watches, I was captivated by America's founding era. As a child, I was drawn to the lives and writings of the Founding Fathers, particularly Thomas Jefferson, and to the remarkable documents that continue to shape our nation.

Today, I have the privilege of serving as a criminal defense attorney, where those same founding principles are more than history—they are part of my daily work. Every day, I rely on the Constitution and the rights it guarantees to advocate for my clients. That connection has only deepened my appreciation for the ideals that inspired this company.

Federal Watch Company exists to unite those two lifelong passions: the enduring craftsmanship of mechanical watchmaking and the history that has always inspired me. My hope is that when you wear one of these watches, you're not simply wearing a finely made mechanical timepiece—you're carrying a small piece of the story that inspired its creation.

Thank you for being part of this journey. It is an honor to build these watches by hand and share them with those who appreciate history, craftsmanship, and mechanical watchmaking.
